It is exciting times for this team, we continue to get that little bit better every event and are very proud to say we are having our best season yet as we continue to climb the rankings and close the gaps. Two events ago we played “The Masters – Grand Slam” in Truro, Nova Scotia and through the event Curled some of our best Curling to date. It is fun to truly understand how good we can be and now we are working steadily on learning the ways to repeat those performances over and over again. We finished 3rd place at the “The Masters” and were able to capture over 6 hours of feature television time through the event. So be sure to check out our website/twitter/facebook for when we play our games because we have seen a nice bump in national television time this past season.
We are pumped up for the Canada Cup which starts on this Wednesday (December 2, 2015), which is nationally televised on TSN throughout, so be sure to stay connected on the team’s progress.
A lot is on the line at this next event (Canada Cup), valuable points and the winner gets the FIRST Olympic trials spot for 2018! We are one of the eight teams competing and have had a tremendous two weeks of preparation leading up. We have always been able to perform well when we take enough time off to get recharged and get mechanics and home-life back to where it needs to be and that was why we knew we needed to take two weeks to prepare for our biggest event of the season!
We then fly almost directly from the Canada Cup in Grande Prairie, to our hometown slam in Yorkton. We cannot wait to once again be home for one of the best events of the year. The support we receive is unbelievable and we cannot wait to play in front of near sold out crowds on Sportsnet in our hometown event!
Thank you for being a part of Team Laycock and our Olympic Pursuit.
Kirk
