What a great couple weeks the team has had touring Saskatchewan for the 2016 version of the Decisive Farming CurlingTown presented by Crescent Point Energy. We visited five communities and received unbelievable support in each. Thank you to all communities, media and host committees for hosting us so generously!
We started the tour off on January 18 and 19 in Tisdale and Outlook, respectively. It was a great way to start the events. We then took a couple days to get our work and training commitments back in order before hitting the road to head down to the corner of the province for Carnduff --- the grand prize winner this season, on January 23. We then travelled from Carnduff to Steve’s hometown of Yorkton for a great morning with a tonne of kids at the Curling Club on January 24. We finished the tour off with a trip out to Rosetown, where we hosted approximately 40 kids on January 25!
We love this tour and this season we saw it grow from three to five events, and we hope to build it even bigger in years to come. It is so nice to see the fun, excitement and joy the kids have on the ice. Our goals are simple for Curlingtown: let the kids have memories of fun and excitement on the Curling ice so they stick with and remember the game into adulthood and second, to instill work ethic and confidence in the future leaders of the province. We did just that with the tour this year.
We had awesome media attention in all the stops, we had newspaper, print, radio and television covering the event, not to mention the unbelievable support on social media. We would like to thank everyone for helping us create exposure for this great event.
We could not begin to do this tour or chase our Olympic Journey without our sponsors. Thank you to title and presenting sponsors of Curlingtown, Decisive Farming and Crescent Point Energy for committing to us and Curlingtown for a fourth straight season! We would also like to thank all of our CurlingTown sponsors, National Leasing, SaskCanola, Norstar Industries and Yorkton Hyundai. None of this would even be imaginable without your partnership and support.
